What are classes like at Fudo Shin Jujitsu and Combat Arts?
Our classes at Fudo Shin Jujitsu and Combat Arts School is based on what works for the streets and in real life attacks. Our goal is to teach and give our students a base of techniques that can save their lives in a real altercation. "Fudo Shin" in japanese stand for "immovable mind." This is the type of mindset that you must have in combat, in order to achieve the ultimate goal....survival. At Fudo Shin Jujitsu, you will start off learning techniques in a basic prearranged format. You will do these techniques repetitiously in order to obtain spontaneous reaction to an attack. Students train in Jujitsu, coupled with techniques from Karate, Kempo, Boxing, and combat ground techniques. After a student starts to learn and grasp the technique, more and more resistance will be added until you are defending against a full fledged and spontaneous attack from an opponent! Classes are intense, challenging, and taught with realism. You will be pushed to your limit! However, because people excel at different paces, you will not be pushed no harder than what your level allows. Why do we push or students hard? Because the way you practice in the dojo, is how you will react on the street! Our techniques are not for the Octagon, the ring, or for sport. You do not get medals or trophies on the street. The street is our ring....Keeping our life is our trophy...our glory is walking away to see another day. Their is no separate classes for men and women. Nothing is watered down for a different person based on gender, sex, or race. We all train together with the same intensity and mindset. While all our classes our intense and realistic, we still have fun while learning. Students of the Fudo Shin Jujitsu dojo is like a family. We all help one another to get better and excel at the combat arts. We are all brothers and sisters in the same cause. At our dojo, you will get an extraordinary workout coupled with dynamic and effective self defense techniques. You will gain confidence, discipline, and leadership skills. When you come to enroll in Fudo Shin Jujitsu and Combat Arts School, their will be no question about our school creed: "The difference between sport and combat, is that in combat you bury the person that comes in second."
Jujitsu Class
Jujitsu was created by the Samurai many centuries ago as their primary unarmed combat fighting style. When they lost their sword in combat, they had to continue to fight and persevere despite being unarmed and without a weapon on the battlefield. Danzan Ryu Jujitsu was created by Master Seishiro Okazaki. He took the combat essence of Jujitsu and combined them with other martial arts to make it a more complete and combat effective system. Danzan Ryu Jujitsu emcompasses throws, strikes, chokes, joint locks, ground defense and come alongs. Danzan Ryu enables a smaller person to overcome a larger attacker using principles of leverage, off balancing and momentum. Danzan Ryu Jujitsu is not intended for sport of competition. It is a system taught solely as a means of self protection.
S.P.E.A.R.R. Women and Men Defense Training
S.P.E.A.R.R. stands for Self Protection Essentials against Assault, Robbery, and Rape. This class is a 10 hour extremely intense self defense class that is geared towards the reality of actual assaults as they happen on the street. In this course, the most common and brutal assaults have been identified. Each of these assaults have been paired with an above equal defensive and offensive counterstrike to incapacitate, subdue, and escape from a violent attack. Many of these attacks are from rear strangles, chokes, strikes, arm holds, and many more. We live in a sometime violent and unpredictable world. Shouldn't your training arsenal be up to the task? The class is broken into two day sessions, or a one day marathon session. Women and men class are taught separately. This class is available to any lawful private or public orginization or entity. A minimum of eight people are required to conduct a session. Certificate of completion are issued to those who complete the entire course. Basic and shorter women's self defense class is also available.
F.I.S.T. Law Enforcement Defense System
F.I.S.T. stands for First responders Immobilization and Self protection Tactics. F.I.S.T. is a program especially designed for law enforcement to address the real life and dangerous situations they may face. The program identifies and deal with the most common assaults a law enforcement officer may incur in the line of duty. Much of this system is devised to be able to defend against and subdue an attacker when you cannot implement any of your issued weapons. Many of these assaults are potentially deadly and are sometimes not addressed by certain law enforcement training programs. Some of these defenses include defense from headlocks, strikes, ground attacks, rear and frontal bear hugs, takedown defense, and how to disarm a person with a gun pointed at you. F.I.S.T. incorporates simple yet highly effective means of self defense for a law enforcement officer who's goal is to make it home every night with their life. This course is open to any law enforcement or security agency.
Kids Class
Danzan Ryu Jujitsu is a pure self defense art. However, some things are not shown to kids at a very early age due to the harsh content of some of the techniques. Kids are still taught a very effective form of self defense that will enable them to defend themselves if the need should arise. Kids will gain self confidence, discipline and increased physical fitness. Students will need to maintain an above “C” average in school and will be required to bring in their report cards and interim reports to reflect that. Grades and conduct outside the dojo are very important to Fudoshin Jujitsu and Combats Arts School. Kids will also be taught the importance of refraining from violence and conflict resolution to avoid using there self defense outside of school. The most important self defense school is never having to use it. |
